Background
Mary Olk’s interior design career began in 1973 with an in-home custom drapery business. Eventually shifting to model homes, Mary designed her first model home in 1978 in Rochester, Michigan, while simultaneously taking on private-residence clients. By the 1990s, Mary began to focus outside of the homebuilding industry, expanding the Designer Interiors portfolio to include commercial design when she was hired to redesign The Resorts of Tullymore & St. Ives in Stanwood, Michigan, just west of Mount Pleasant.
